Nalanda West programs bring essential wisdom teachings to the 21st century audience. The inspiration for Nalanda West programs comes from the historic Indian university of Nalanda, which was known in its time (3rd - 13th centuries, CE) as a place where Buddhist and non-Buddhist traditions came together in a spirit of fearless, ecumenical inquiry into universal truths and the sources of genuine happiness.
Under the guidance of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, we offer programs based on The 5 Fields of Knowledge taught at Nalanda University:
Creativity -- Meaningful Creative
Expression
Health & Well-Being -- Physical, Mental and
Environmental Harmony
Communication (Sound, Meaning, Language &
Performance)
The Mind -- The Application of Logic to Examine
the Mind and its World
Direct Insight -- Meditation and Mind Training
Practices
Rental space (including kitchen facilities) is available for meetings and events to approved groups. The upper floor of Nalanda West houses a beautiful large meeting space with high celings and plenty of natural light. On the ground floor is Buddhist bookstore and gift shop, NalandaStore, as well as a community dining room and a smaller meeting room across the breezeway in the adjacent building.
We hope you'll join us at one of our upcoming events at Nalanda West.
