This is an 16-week introductory series on the essential points of
the Buddhist path. Topics covered in the classes include the life
of the Buddha, Buddhism and cultural trappings, the nature of
suffering and the path of freedom from suffering, the Buddhist
perspective of a science of mind and meditation, and the four noble
truths.
The classes in this series will run from October 19,
2011 through February 15, 2012 as our Wednesday
night Open House talks.
All are welcome!
These classes also make up the 100 Level study curriculum for
Nalandabodhi, Center for American
Buddhism™.
Students may also attend these classes on a drop in basis. These courses are free, though donations are accepted. Each course has an accompanying sourcebook based on the teachings of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche that is available for purchase at the Nalanda Store. It is recommended that class readings be done prior to each class.
