Nalanda West was established 2003 in Seattle as the headquarters for Nalandabodhi. It is centrally located in the Fremont section of Seattle. The namesake of Nalanda West is Nalanda University in India, which was the first international residential university in the world with more than 10,000 students. Nalanda West has been established to perpetuate Nalanda University's authentic, unbroken lineage of skillful methods for realizing the awakened state of mind. Nalanda West offers a wide variety of programs and events.

Nitartha Institute www.nitarthainstitute.org Combining a systematic course of study with training in Tibetan Buddhist forms of meditation and debate, Nitartha Institute continues the traditions of the monastic shedra and introduces Western students to the ancient Tibetan Buddhist science of mind. The Institute offers residential study programs as well as 2 or 4 week intensive programs every July. The Institute also engages in extensive translation and publication work and is partnering with Snow Lion Publications to produce a Nitartha Institute series of books.

Dzogchen Monastery is the seat of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, who is one of its three abbots. It was founded during the seventeenth century in Derge, Kham, Eastern Tibet, and has been the home of many great masters, such as the Dzogchen Patrul Rinpoche.

The Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim, India, is the official seat of His Holiness Karmapa. In 1981, HH 16th Karmapa founded the Karma Shri Nalanda Institute for Higher Buddhist Studies - a monastic college, or shedra - at Rumtek. Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche as well as Acharya Lama Tenpa Gylatsen graduated from the Institute.

Bodhi Heart, a project of the Nalandabodhi Foundation under the guidance of The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, has been established with the purpose of improving the lives of impoverished Tibetan refugees in India and Nepal. The communities of Tibetan Refugees have are presently unable to meet the financial needs of their ever-growing populations. Bodhi Heart's mission is to offer tools for these refugees to create a prosperous, independent community capable of providing for its own needs and aspirations.
