In 1997, one summer night, Tenzin Namdak (Tenam-La), Ponlop Rinpoche's attendant and Tibetan font-maker, began to tell us stories of The Dzogchen Ponlop Tulkus, which he had heard growing up as a young monk at Dzogchen Monastery in Tibet. In February 1998, Lingla Kuchen Rinpoche visited Boulder, Colorado. Until 1996, Lingla Rinpoche lived at Dzogchen Monastery in Tibet. This was Rinpoche's first visit to the United States.
